DoorDash, the popular delivery platform, recently announced a spectrum of new features aimed at enhancing both user and delivery personnel experience. The most exciting of these is a new earning mode for Dashers, offering them a choice between two lucrative earning schemes catered to maintain flexibility and control over their income.

‘Earn by Time’ is a fresh addition to the earning options, offering Dashers a guaranteed minimum hourly rate with the added bonus of 100% of the tips. Whereas the existing ‘Earn Per Offer’ option has been streamlined for efficiency, ensuring upfront clarity about the minimum earning plus 100% of tips. To maintain flexibility, Dashers can switch between these options at the start of each dash or end their existing dash and initiate a new one under a different earning mode.

Customer experience hasn't been overlooked either. A major update lets customers tip or increase their tip for the delivery person up to 30 days after the order completion. Moreover, a novel ‘Dash Along the Way’ feature allows Dashers to automatically receive offers that guide them back to their chosen start zone. The safety of Dashers is also prioritized, with an option to share location with five trusted contacts, giving real-time visibility into their delivery trip status.

The app interface has been revamped with a universal search bar, making it easier for users to find anything from groceries to restaurants. Special tabs for browsing grocery and retail sectors have been incorporated for navigational ease. Users can now manage multiple shopping carts, a departure from the previous limitation of a single cart. These consumer-facing updates are scheduled to roll out progressively in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Further enhancing its appeal, DoorDash has also integrated SNAP/EBT online payments for grocery delivery with partners like ALDI, Albertsons, Safeway, Meijer, and select 7-Eleven stores. Together, these updates reflect DoorDash's commitment to its community - consolidating its dominant position in the delivery platform sphere while ensuring better earnings for Dashers and an improved user experience for customers.
