As you might be aware, CD Projekt Red has a multitude of ventures in progress, including a refreshed version of the inaugural The Witcher and a follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. Nonetheless, arguably the most enthralling among these is The Witcher 4, known within the company as Project Polaris.

On a recent Wednesday evening, there emerged some tantalizing hints of progress from the latter. The industry insider Hazzador Gamin highlighted via Threads that the esteemed Polish game developer has disclosed the nearing conclusion of the pre-production stage for The Witcher 4, with the transition to full-scale production on the horizon. CD Projekt Red's executive Michał Nowakowski shared in a media statement:

"Polaris is forging ahead – its creative crew is on the cusp of reaching a pivotal transition, concluding the preparatory phase. The commencement of this year witnessed a hive of activity at our Boston branch, which has been establishing the foundational components for Project Orion – a fresh endeavor rooted in the Cyberpunk realm."

This indicates that the intensive phase of development work has been set in motion, and with some optimism, this could mean the emergence of enticing hints through forthcoming hiring announcements and perhaps the sporadic unofficial tidbit escaping the confines of CD Projekt Red. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that it will probably take a minimum of two years before anything concrete is revealed.
